1912 Hupmobile Model H – Roger Hadfield, Milton, ON This car, built in Windsor, ON, was purchased new by Dr. Charles Ellis of Bradford, ON in 1912, from the Automobile and Supply Company Limited on Temperance Street. The car was sold to the second owner, Mr. Howard Bowsher, during the First World War. Neither Mr. Bowsher nor his wife drove it—ever. Mr. C. E. Daniel purchased the car in the spring of 1952; it had not been out of the Bowsher shed for 35 years. The roof had leaked for many years and was in ribbons. The floor was earth and the boards the wheels had rested on had rotted away so the wheels sunk several inches in the ground. The tires were rotten and the car was a sad, rusty sight. All accessories were missing – including the windshield – with the exception of the shells of the two headlights. Mr. Daniel began carrying out a restoration at once, and it was ready to drive the fall of 1953. The car was towed and the engine started when the clutch was thrown in. The Bosch high-tension magneto starts the car after choking on the first swing. The Hupp was the first to offer a steel body and streamlined low-profile design with the driveshaft tunnel in tonneau. The crankcase is cast aluminum, and the transmission and multiple-disc wet clutches are all lubricated by the engine oil. It is a right-hand-drive but with a centre-control “H”-type gear shift and emergency brake. The gas tank is in the cowl and it has an instrument board mounted with controls. It has a full floating rear axle with transverse rear spring and Hartford friction shock absorber. @cobblebeach #CBCdE2018 #winner ift.tt/2NM0tCO See MoreSee Less

Pinnacle of Preservation. At 88 years young, this 1930 Pierce-Arrow Model B 7-Passenger is not only regularly driven, but capable of keeping up with modern traffic, while retaining much of its original equipment!
